
Jammu, February 15: Dr. Devansh Yadav, Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), conducted an extensive inspection of the Surya Putri Tawi Arti Ghat today to assess the area’s potential for development into a prominent religious and tourist destination.
During the visit, Dr. Yadav instructed the concerned authorities to create a detailed development plan for the Ghat, prioritizing infrastructure improvements, cleanliness, and overall beautification. The aim is to enhance its cultural and environmental significance, making it a key attraction in the region.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Chander Mohan Sharma, President of Tawi Bachao Andolan, Rakesh Gupta, Joint Commissioner (Revenue & Enforcement), and Dr. Vinod Sharma, Health Officer.
Dr. Yadav emphasized the importance of the Tawi River’s conservation and assured that all necessary steps would be taken to develop the Arti Ghat into a major religious and tourist hub. He further stressed the need for the timely execution of the development works while maintaining environmental sustainability.
This initiative is part of JMC’s broader efforts to improve urban infrastructure and promote eco-friendly development, as the corporation remains dedicated to the beautification and preservation of public spaces in Jammu.
