
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi, Nidhi Malik, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), visited Ransoo today to review preparations for the upcoming three-day Maha Shivratri Mela 2025, scheduled to begin on February 25.
During her visit, DC Malik directed officials to set up multiple registration counters at strategic locations to assist devotees and ensure smooth crowd management. She also inspected the bus and taxi stands, emphasizing the need for an efficient traffic management plan to prevent congestion during the event.
To maintain hygiene, the DC instructed the installation of dustbins along the track and near langar areas, while urging langar organizers to prioritize sanitation and minimize plastic usage. She further directed the deployment of extra public toilets to accommodate the large number of visitors.
DC Malik also emphasized the importance of public safety and convenience, directing the stationing of Fire Services staff and trucks throughout the mela. She instructed the XENs to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply. Additionally, she urged the Tourism Department to properly publicize the event and cultural programs.
Focusing on beautification, the DC stressed the need for proper illumination of Ransoo town to enhance the festival ambiance. She also highlighted the importance of security arrangements, additional manpower, and timely medical facilities for the safety and comfort of the devotees.
