Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will play the role of a “good opposition” during the upcoming budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, which is set to begin on March 3.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Singh said, “We will play a constructive role in the assembly. For the first time, we have come with such a strong majority, and our vote share has improved. Decisions will be made in the best interest of the people, guided by our nationalist ideology. Our MLAs are fully prepared to present their issues effectively.”
Dr. Singh also pointed out that while numerous employment opportunities have been created over the past 10 years, their benefits have not been fully realized in Jammu and Kashmir due to the lack of a “double engine system,” which is present in states like Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. He emphasized that the BJP’s MLAs will bring this issue to the forefront during the session.
The Union Minister further stated that the Jammu and Kashmir government would be held accountable for the work under its jurisdiction that has not been implemented, despite the central government’s support.
